  • A Roll in the Hay or a Roll of the Dice?

    By Sonny White | September 15, 2010

If I could borrow a bit from Jeff Foxworthy: “If you’d rather roll the dice than have a roll in the hay, you might be a gambling addict.” If there’s one thing that should tell you that your gaming has gone out of control, it’s passing on a booty call because you’re on a roll at the craps tables.

That’s the beauty of online gaming; you can walk away at any time, like when something more important comes up. And then jump back into a game when you have some free time again. Gaming is meant to be fun, with a chance to win some money. If you’re unable to walk away from the game, it’s time to check yourself. If you’d rather roll the dice than enjoy a roll in the hay, it’s time to stop and get your world in order. The action will always be there when the time is right. But your hay-rolling partner might disappear if scorned.

    Playing Craps: Learning Dice Control

    By Sonny White | September 14, 2010

    dice control

Dice control is a much-debated topic around the craps tables these days. Some players claim that they can control the outcome of the roll and beat the game. Not only are there educational resources for controlling the roll of the dice, but also information on how to organize a dice-control team.

Controlled dice rolling is a theory where the dice are held in a certain position and thrown at a certain angle, so that the outcome of the rolls will change enough to diminish the house edge over the player. There are very few individuals that claim to have consistently beaten the game, but there are many who claim to know how to teach you.

This technique does not put the player in a position to crush the game, like counting cards would do at a blackjack table. It only diminishes the house edge, so a big bankroll will be a requirement.

Lost Your Lucky Charm? Try These.

    By Sonny White | September 13, 2010

    four leaf clover

Carrying around lucky charms is one of the oldest human behaviors. It never hurts to carry around a bit of hope in our pocket. It doesn’t take long to find a lucky rock or trinket in a casino, where everyone is hoping to get lucky. They can take just about any form, but here’s a couple that have stood the test of time.

A four-leaf clover is believed to be one of the luckiest things you can carry. It’s a rare find in a patch of clover, representing that you’re lucky and can beat the odds. You should have a real one, not a pin or a man-made patch. Go out and find one, you’ll start to feel lucky as soon as you do.

The mother of all trinkets is the mojo bag. This is a small sack filled with different herbs and powders to bring you luck.

    Excalibur casino Las Vegas

    Excalibur Casino’s lucky slots

Some people spend years and years trying to hit a big jackpot in a casino. Many will be well into their golden years before the odds finally hit them, some will never hit that big one that changes their life forever, while others will sit down and win on the first try. The most famous story of someone doing that was in Vegas at the Excalibur Casino back in 2003.

A 25-year-old man who was traveling to Vegas to watch NCAA basketball, decided he would try out the slot machines. He sat down to play for a little while, only to hit the biggest jackpot ever paid out in Las Vegas. He won $39.7 million playing a progressive jackpot machine, a payout he will receive in $1.5M payments each year for 25 years. The investment of only: $100 turned into a life on easy street for the lucky beginner.

Increase Your Luck Playing Online Caribbean Holdem

    By Sonny White | September 11, 2010

    caribbean holdem

Online Caribbean Holdem is a tough one for which to develop an optimum strategy. Without any of the dealer’s cards viewable, decision making is based purely on the player’s cards and the flop, or first three community cards. With two cards still to come, and an ante bet already made, it makes sense for the player to call the bet in most hands.

You’ll get to optimum playing strategy by calling just over 80% of the hands you’re dealt. Only the worst hands should be folded before the last two community cards are dealt. If you hold two small cards that have no chance of a flush or straight, you should fold them. The rest have the chance of beating the dealer. Or the dealer may not qualify and your call bet will be a push. Plus the ante bet will pay out, depending on the hand you’re able to compile.

5 Lucky Tips for Online Casino Players

    By Sonny White | September 10, 2010

    1. If you like the slots or video poker games you should search out the biggest jackpots. Not only can you win more money, but these games offer the best playing odds because of the potential profit.

    2. Play when you’re happy, not when you’re upset. Don’t play online because you have problems, play when things are going well in your life.

    3. Make sure you take advantage of buy-in re-load bonuses. They can extend your playing time and increase your chances of getting lucky. You don’t necessarily get them automatically.

    4. Learn to play basic strategy if you play blackjack. You’ll win more often and get to play for a longer time. It’s more fun when you know you’re playing the best you can.

    5. Get out when you’re up. If you’re up get most of that money in your pocket, and save a small percentage to play with.

Las Vegas Slot Machine Tips and Techniques

    By Sonny White | September 8, 2010

There’s no way to beat the slots. But there are ways to maximize your chances. The first thing to do is to read the payout percentage of each machine before you play it. Try and find one where the payout is over 97%, preferably ones that pay out 98.5% or better.

Next you should play at the proper machine for your bankroll. Figure out how many sessions you play in a week and divide your bankroll into equal amounts. Depending on how much you have for each session, you can determine what size slots to play.

Finally, remember to play the max bet if you’re on a progressive jackpot machine or a bonus machine that requires you do so. Progressive games only have good payout percentages if you include the jackpot, so you should play for it. If you hit the winning spin and don’t play max bet, you won’t win it.

    Winning Blackjack Techniques

    By Sonny White | September 7, 2010

    Blackjack
The only way to win at blackjack on a consistent basis is to count cards. And if you’re not a savant or mathematics wizard, counting cards is a tough skill to master against four or more decks. They use a system of plus / minus to record the “count” of big cards that are left in the deck. Counts with lots of big cards means it’s time to increase the size of the bet they’re making.

For most of us, playing blackjack is about playing optimally within a structured strategy. Optimum blackjack is about making the right decision based on your hand and the dealer’s up-card. There are charts available that indicate what your decision should be. Find a chart and take it to the casino. Most will allow you to use it, but some casinos may have an issue. Ask your pit boss if charts are allowed at the table.

Check out this video from Darren Brown where he describes and shows some of his memory tricks- tricks that have him banned from playing in the U.K.. Enjoy.

    Unpopular but Successful Blackjack Techniques

    By Sonny White | September 6, 2010

    blackjack

The only successful blackjack technique I would ‘count on’ would be card counting. It’s not the most popular technique, but it’s the only way to beat the game. Most players never learn to count because the casinos consider it cheating and will stop you from playing there if they feel you’re doing it.

The technique is to simply attach a value to every card in order to maintain a count on small cards versus big cards left in the deck. Cards 2 through 6 are assigned +1, while cards 7 through 9 are zero, and 10’s, face cards and aces are -1. When the count is at a plus number the deck has more big cards than small ones. When the count gets big, you can raise the size of your bet because you have a better chance of winning with a deck that has more big cards in it.
