Poker: Strategies on Emotions
By jstevens | March 15, 2010
It has been my observation that most unskilled players change their plying strategies based on emotions, not reason. Good, skilled players base their strategies on reason.
Some players wear their emotions on their sleeves, while others bottle time up inside. When determining the best play you should make, taking your opponents emotions into consideration will make your decisions much more accurate.
When it comets to experience, it is often determined by what happens to you. Some people learn from their mistakes and some make the same mistakes over and over. Wisdom from experience comes from accurately analyzing evens. Observe your table and watch for the moment by moment changes in the game and what is going on, you may eventually gain wisdom from the game. Doing this, you will certainly gain some edge.
Take the time to focus on your opponent, understand where there emotions are and use your wisdom form experience to predict the outcome. After every hand think through what has happened. How did their thinking/emotions affect their play? The more accurate you become the easier it will be to pick out your targets.
