Macau vs. Vegas: Where Would You Rather Play Blackjack?
By jstevens | March 16, 2010
When it comes to the best place to play blackjack, you’re better off in Macau. Vegas casinos are constantly making the game tougher, and some are even running games that only pay 6:5 on a natural blackjack hand. That changes the house edge from 0.16% to a whopping 1.45%.
In Macau each property runs different rules for blackjack. At the Lisboa Casino, an SJM property, the house edge under those rules is a scant 0.02%. That’s if you play basic strategy for that version of the game. The rest of the SJM Properties run games with a house edge of 0.89%. At the Wynn Macau the house edge is only 0.06%, and the Galaxy Casino holds a 0.16% edge in their blackjack action.
So it’s a no-brainer where the better blackjack games are. Unfortunately it will take a big chunk of your bankroll just to get to the Macau tables.
